PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT:
Proper preparation before your Rohrer Spectrum Laser treatment ensures the best results while minimizing risks. Please follow these pre-treatment guidelines to get the most out of your session.
Medical Considerations
⬦ Health Conditions: Inform us of any medical conditions, especially if you have diabetes, connective tissue disorders, or are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy. These factors can affect healing and treatment safety.
⬦ Medications: Disclose any medications, including over-the-counter supplements. Certain medications, such as blood thinners, may need to be adjusted before treatment.
⬦ Accutane Usage: If you’ve used Isotretinoin (Accutane) in the past 12 months, let us know, as it may impact your eligibility for laser treatments.
⬦ Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV): If you have a history of cold sores or HSV outbreaks, notify us before your appointment. You may need a preventative antiviral medication to reduce the risk of a flare-up.
Skin Preparation
⬦ Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least three weeks before your treatment. Tanned skin is more sensitive to laser energy and may be at risk for pigmentation changes.
⬦ Skincare Products: Stop using exfoliating creams, hydroquinone, and Tretinoin (Retin-A) at least three daysbefore your session to minimize skin sensitivity.
Day of Treatment
⬦ Hydration: Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of treatment to keep your skin hydrated and promote healing.
⬦ Pain Management: If needed, acetaminophen (Tylenol) may be taken before treatment (consult with your provider first). Avoid NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin, or naproxen) as they can increase bruising.
⬦ Skin Care: Arrive with clean skin—no lotions, perfumes, makeup, or other skincare products on the treatment area. Wash with a mild cleanser before your appointment.
⬦ Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area and minimizes irritation post-treatment.
Additional Considerations
⬦ Recent Procedures: Inform us of any recent cosmetic treatments or procedures in the area being treated, as they may affect your laser session.
⬦ Expectations: During your consultation, discuss your goals and expectations with our team so we can customize the best treatment plan for your skin.
By following these guidelines, you’ll ensure a safe and effective Rohrer Spectrum Laser treatment at Fletcher Aesthetics.
To enhance the safety of your treatment, you will be required to sign a consent form confirming your compliance with these pre-treatment recommendations, as well as your understanding of the post-treatment instructions.

POST - TREATMENT GUIDELINES:
Ensuring proper post-treatment care following your Rohrer Spectrum Laser procedure at Fletcher Aesthetics is vital for optimal healing and achieving the best results. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
Immediate Aftercare:
⬦ Keep the Treated Area Clean: Gently cleanse the area with a mild cleanser as recommended by your provider. Avoid scrubbing; instead, pat the skin dry.
⬦ Moisturize Regularly: Apply a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and promote healing.
⬦ Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect the treated area from direct sunlight. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 when exposure cannot be avoided.
Managing Discomfort and Swelling:
⬦ Cold Compresses: Apply cold packs or soft gel ice packs to the treated area for 10-15 minutes every 1-2 hours during the first 48 hours to reduce swelling and discomfort.
⬦ Elevation: When resting or sleeping, keep your head elevated using extra pillows to help minimize swelling.
Activity Restrictions:
⬦ Limit Physical Activity: Avoid strenuous exercises, heavy lifting, and activities that cause excessive sweating for at least one week post-treatment to facilitate proper healing.
⬦ Avoid Heat Exposure: Steer clear of hot baths, saunas, and environments with excessive heat during the initial healing period.
Skin Care and Cosmetics:
⬦ Avoid Harsh Products: Refrain from using exfoliants, retinoids, or products containing glycolic acids until your provider advises it's safe to resume.
⬦ Delay Makeup Application: Wait until the skin has healed sufficiently before applying makeup to the treated area. Your provider will guide you on the appropriate time to resume cosmetic use.
Monitoring Healing:
⬦ Expect Mild Redness and Swelling: It's normal to experience redness and swelling in the treated area, which typically subsides within a few days.
⬦ Avoid Picking or Scratching: Do not pick at scabs or peeling skin, as this can lead to scarring or infection.
By following these post-treatment guidelines, you support a smooth recovery and enhance the effectiveness of your Rohrer Spectrum Laser treatment at Fletcher Aesthetics. If you have any questions or concerns during your recovery, please don't hesitate to contact us.
